Meet Our Coaches
Greg Brightbill works here at UMB as an Academic Coordinator for Leadership Education where he manages the President’s Student Leadership Institute in the Office of Interprofessional Student Learning and Service Initiatives. Greg currently has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University, a Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel Administration from James Madison University, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Greg is extremely excited to be a part of the Academic Coaching team and looks forward to helping the student’s here at UMB be able to live their true potential.
Meghan is originally from New York and moved to Maryland in 2008. She obtained her B.S. from SUNY Brockport and earned her Master's Degree in Social Work here at the University of Maryland. Meghan started working for URecFit in 2008 and loves the fun and challenging experience. She has enjoys interacting with UMB students to assist them in finding their own paths.
Christina is dedicated to UMB students as an Educational Access Coordinator in the Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS). She has also worked as Transfer Credit Assistant in the Office of the Registrar with University of Maryland, College Park. Christina has obtained a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Management, and currently pursuing her second Masters. In addition, she holds a certificate in Health Care Administration, and is familiar with discipline to achieve academic goals.
Deborah began working at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in September 2011, and is currently the Director of Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS). Deborah’s work experience combines higher education, counseling, coaching and health/mental health fields. She holds a Bachelors of Psychology from Emory University and Masters degrees in both Social Work and Adult Learning and Leadership from Columbia University. Additionally, Deborah completed an executive coaching certification program through Columbia Business School and Teachers College in October 2009. She finds working with individual students on the issues that matter most to them is the best part of her job.
Michelle Pearce, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Center for Integrative Medicine. She also works with the Wellness Hub providing student coaching and wellness programming. Dr. Pearce is committed to her personal mission of empowering people to prosper –body, mind, and spirit. She is passionate about helping people achieve their health-related goals and live balanced, peaceful lives. Her background is in clinical psychology and spirituality and health. She nurtures her own wellness by spending time outside, hiking, cooking, and curled up with a good book.
Michelle Peralta is the newest member of the Wellness Hub. Prior to her position as the Health and Wellness Educator, Michelle worked with the Center for Integrative Medicine part of UMB School of Medicine and in various non-profits in Philadelphia providing education on health, fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Temple University and a certifiied 200-hour Yoga Teacher. Currently, Michelle is working on her Master's in Public Health at UMB. She is typically seen walking her dog, chowing on a donut and hiking the locals trails. Michelle enjoys working with students on stress management, yoga, meditation and school-life balance.
Amy began working at UMB in April 2011 as the Director of the Office of International Services. Originally from Queens, New York, she moved to Maryland to attend the University of Maryland, College Park. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Maryland College Park, a Master’s in International Education from The George Washington University, and has started a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at the University of Maryland, College Park. Amy enjoys working with students to identify their passions and channel those passions into concrete action to achieve their life goals. In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga, meditation and listening to podcasts.
