The Photo and Video Team is located within the Communications and Public Affairs Department here at the University. Our primary goal is to tell the stories of the people of the University of Maryland, Baltimore and their tireless efforts to keep us at the forefront of higher education. Every employee here at UMB has a story to tell, from collaboration in the lab to civility on the streets, and every story deserves to be heard and seen.

Photography

How do I submit a work request? ▾

My event is next week, is it too late to request coverage? ▾

Not necessarily. While we would love as much time as possible to prepare, we understand that things pop up and will make every effort to accommodate. Please keep in mind that last-minute coverage and/or quick turnaround may incur an extra rush charge.  

How quickly are images delivered? ▾

Standard turnaround time is 10 working days. However, most are delivered with 3-5 days.  

Can you provide social media images for immediate distribution? ▾

Yes, for an added fee of $25

Videography

What resolution are videos shot at?  ▾

Videos are typically shot in High Definition at 1080p with a variety of equipment.  

Do I pay for post-production time? ▾

For most jobs, post-production is included in the in photography fee. However, some projects for which post-production is integral to the product (e.g. a composite photograph), post-production is charged in addition to photographic capture time. 

How much will all this cost? ▾

Video and Photography work are billed at $100 hourly, photo headshots $25/person (under 8 people), videography assistance $50 hourly, and drone video $160 hourly. Every project is different and every project takes a varying time to complete. Please contact us and we will work with you in a realistic and transparent way.  

Additional Information

Photoshelter

Photoshelter is where you can find all your images. Once logged in (use your UMB ID), your galleries will be under “invited galleries.” Images can be downloaded singly, or in batch, using the downward pointing arrow in the lower right hand corner of the gallery. Batch downloads much be done from the thumbnail gallery display.

Model Release Form

If model release forms are required (usually for non-UMB participants and some advertising purposes), please have these forms filled out prior to the photo session and bring them to the session. We will scan the forms and include them with the photographs.
