Anxiety Toolbox Series - Fall 2022

Do you want to chat with a counselor about stress and anxiety management in an informal setting? Or maybe be more consistent with coping skills for difficult situations? This series of sessions will focus on providing information that will increase a student's ability to understand the nature of stress, learn about strategies for managing stress, and to evaluate their personal stress level.

The Student Counseling Center offers virtual psycho-educational sessions during the Fall semester. The series is made of a weekly, 1-hour skill-based session over a 3-week period.

Toxic Positivity

A discussion-based workshop, for students to learn ways to talk to themselves and to others with warmth and compassion without falling into the trap of toxic positivity and invalidation. Join this discussion and practice of embracing the unique human emotional experience. Cameras are not required in this workshop, but mics are required for breakout groups and discussions.

Mood Gym

Come join in this “fitness” experience designed to help you strengthen your “muscles” for managing stress and overwhelming emotion. Emotional and cognitive exercises to improve your ability to express emotions effectively will be woven throughout this experience. The session allows time to gain skills, briefly practice, and will include take-home packets to help refresh what you learned later on.
