I self-reported vaccine information in SAFE, but it says unconfirmed. Why do I have to provide more information?

Although the SAFE on Campus symptom monitoring program collected self-reported vaccination information in the past, there was no mechanism for you to provide proof of your vaccine. With the vaccine being mandatory for the fall semester, UMB requires evidence of the vaccine. Read more.

Do I still have to complete SAFE if I have been vaccinated against COVID-19?

For UMB faculty, staff, and students: If you are fully vaccinated, you no longer will receive the SAFE on Campus daily symptom monitoring emails effective June 14, 2021. Vaccinated School of Medicine and School of Nursing students only need to complete it on the days when attending a clinical practicum off site. Read more.

What about the VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) data that shows reports of adverse reactions/incidents after vaccination?

Letter: UMB Face Covering and Physical Distancing Requirements for Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Students, Faculty, and Staff

Effective Thursday, July 1, UMB’s Policy Requiring Use of Face Coverings will no longer require fully vaccinated people to wear face coverings and/or practice physical distancing while on UMB’s campus. UMB’s campus is defined as all property owned, leased, or operated by UMB. However, students, faculty, and staff who are not fully vaccinated, even if they have received a medical or religious exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, must continue to wear a mask in accordance with the policy Read more.

Fully Vaccinated? You Might Be Exempt from SAFE on Campus

Starting Monday, June 14, if UMB has confirmation that you are fully vaccinated, you will no longer receive the SAFE on Campus daily symptom monitoring emails 14 days after your final dose. Students at the School of Medicine and School of Nursing will continue to use the daily symptom monitoring process at practicums. Read more.

The State of Maryland and the Baltimore Orioles, along with Major League Baseball (MLB), have announced a partnership to host on-site vaccination clinics at Oriole Park at Camden Yards during the homestand beginning Friday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 23, when the Orioles play host to the Toronto Blue Jays and Houston Astros.
