Who should complete the Daily Health Screening?

August 10, 2020 (updated June 10, 2021)

This information is about the UMB SAFE on Campus screening program.

Effective Monday, June 14, 2021, the SAFE on Campus program will apply to all nonvaccinated students, faculty and staff, whether working or assigned to the main UMB campus or to other locations in the city, Maryland, or elsewhere in the United States, as part of UMB employment or academic responsibilities. The program also applies to University of Maryland School of Medicine and University of Maryland School of Nursing students attending an off-site clinical practicum. The word “campus” should not be interpreted to mean only the buildings on the main campus in Baltimore.

Anyone listed above who is planning to visit campus or a UMB-operated facility must complete the SAFE Daily Health Screening. This includes reasons beyond solely reporting for work or attending classes including — but not limited to — going to the Health Sciences/Human Services Library, the Campus Center, or the URecFit facilities.

Students and employees identified by their Student Affairs Dean’s Office or managers, respectively, will be required to complete the daily SAFE health screening.

If you have questions about whether to complete the screening, contact your supervisor or Student Affairs Dean’s Office.
