On-site Computer Restarts and Shut Downs

CITS has re-enabled the “Restart” and “Shut down” options as an effective method for individuals to resolve many common issues when a computer is not working as expected.

When episodic telework began in March 2020, CITS Desktop Support removed the ability to power down and restart computers in order to reduce the occurrence of accidental workstation shutdowns.

Please be aware that if you are working remotely you should NOT shut down your office computer, as it can only be powered back on manually in person.

If you have any questions or accidentally shut down your computer, CITS Desktop Support has staff onsite that can assist.
