Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Available for UMB

July 26, 2021 (updated September 1, 2021)

The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Critical Resources and Logistics has personal protective equipment (PPE) available for UMB employees.

Limitations may be placed on the amount ordered. Please use the new order form below.

The PPE is provided through a one-time special FEMA grant for Return to Campus only. When these supplies are gone, OEM will not re-stock for future requests. Any of these items that staff or faculty may need for future PPE requirements will have to be purchased from BIORESCO or via their regular supply chain.

OEM has two types of face-covering masks, some XL gloves and a limited number of safety glass eye protection, as described below:

  • Reusable cloth face masks (packages of 10)
  • 3-layer disposable face masks (boxes of 50)
  • Safety Glasses (Limited to 6 pair per labratory setting with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Nitrile XL Gloves (boxes of 90)

There is no charge for any of these supplies. Please enter the quantities you would like in the PPE Distribution Order Form and email to Jim Chandler, critical resources and logistics program manager. Supplies are typically available within 2-3 days from the order date, dependent on quantities requested and availability of a delivery truck from Department of Environmental Services (EVS).

If you need other sized gloves, and the “food service grade polyethylene type” are acceptable, OEM has a supply of those in various sizes and prices that could be sent as part of the blue COVID Point of Use Cart program.
