Departmental Purchases

Paid faculty and staff of the University of Maryland Baltimore only. Software must be purchased and installed on machines that are owned or leased by the University. Software must be purchased by the department, not with personal funds. Orders are placed with the Software Licensing Office.

For concurrent license purchases, software must be picked up and installed by your departmental IT Support person.

Work-At-Home Purchases

Paid faculty and staff of the University of Maryland Baltimore only. Limited to Microsoft products only. Software can be purchased and installed on machines that are owned by the individual, and must be used for work-related purposes only. Software may be purchased in person by the individual at the Software Licensing Office and paid for with a credit card or JE Form. In some cases, software is only available for download, and cannot be purchased on CD or DVD. Software must be uninstalled by the individual after they leave the University. Each media is encrypted for TWO INSTALLATIONS only on ONE machine, and each has a special key code that cannot be replaced if lost or oversubscribed.

Student Purchases

Currently enrolled students of the University of Maryland Baltimore only. Software can be purchased and installed on machines that are owned by the student, and may be used for any purpose. Software must be purchased in person by the student at the Software Licensing Office and paid for with a credit card. Software must be uninstalled by the student after they leave the University unless the student has graduated from the University. Microsoft media is encrypted for TWO INSTALLATIONS only on ONE machine, and each has a special key code that cannot be replaced if lost or oversubscribed.
