PFC Mikal Diggs is one of the newest police officers on the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Police and Public Safety team. Diggs successfully completed the police academy and field training this year. Now, he’s ready to serve the University community.

“Completing the academy and field training was a huge accomplishment,” says Diggs, who finished at the top of his class. Before joining the department, he served as a special police officer since 2019. Then, he was recruited by Assistant Chief Tonya Bell and Cpl. Shantell Brown.

“I enjoy our community policing initiatives,” says the police officer. “I like to help people. I try to learn and improve every day.”

Outside of work, Diggs enjoys watching and attending sporting events. He also enjoys coaching his son and daughter in various sports.
