Melinda David has been a member of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Police and Public Safety team for 24 years. The security officer currently works in Bressler Research Building.

“I enjoy meeting people,” she says. “My role helps our students and employees to feel safe.”

David was nominated for an officer spotlight by a fellow security officer who recognized her for her excellence. She joined the department because she wanted to try something different. Now, after 24 years at UMB, she looks forward to traveling when she retires in the future. 

“I like to laugh and smile,” she says. Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, going to the movies, and going out to eat.
