PFC Louis Holley joined the University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) as a result of the public safety collaboration with the University of Baltimore (UBalt). 

Before joining UMBPD, Holley served as a police officer with the Baltimore Police Department, Coppin State University, and UBalt, totaling 22½ years of experience. 

“I enjoy helping people and solving problems,” Holley says. He has some impressive accomplishments as an officer, including the conviction of the first gang member in Maryland. Holley also has received the Medal of Honor. 

“Always pay attention to your surroundings,” Holley recommends. “We’re here to help.” He says being a police officer can be challenging, so it’s important to keep doing the right thing. 

Outside of work, Holley enjoys traveling. “I always like to have a good time — home or out.”
