Security officer Arnold Jones loves meeting new people. As a University of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department (UMBPD) Safe Ride driver, he gets to meet a lot of new people. 

“I like driving Safe Ride around campus and picking up passengers,” he says. Jones is one of UMBPD’s newest employees, joining the department last month. “I don't have any great achievements yet, but I’ve met some new and wonderful co-workers!” he says.

As a new employee, Jones says he’s still learning the job. He became a security officer for the opportunity to try something new. “[UMB] is a great place to come learn and meet new people,” he says. 

In the future, Jones hopes to become a UMBPD police officer. In his free time, he loves to paint and put together model cars. Jones also collects tennis shoes. “I have shoes I haven’t even worn yet!” he says.
