Our newest comfort K9 has now joined the UMBPD! Poe is a 2-year-old Great Dane mix from Cocoa Beach, Fla. While he adjusts to our University, please ask his handler, PFC Summers, before petting him or feeding him snacks. Learn more about Poe and schedule a visit

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week was April 10-16. Our Police Communications Operators (PCOs) are the voice you hear when you call the UMBPD (410-706-6882). They also monitor dozens of cameras, manage building access, listen to and talk on radios, coordinate Safe Walks, and much more! Please join us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) to thank them for their enormous contribution to the public safety of our campus! 
 
Safety Awareness Meeting: May 11
Save the date! Our next Safety Awareness Meeting is Wednesday, May 11 at 10 a.m. The meeting provides an opportunity to review safety tips, hear crime updates, learn about upcoming UMBPD resources, and ask questions. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SMC Campus Center. The event provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unneeded prescription drugs. Learn more.
