Who We Are

Stacey Rose, EdD, MEd, MSW

Stacey Rose joins UMB as the inaugural Core Values Program Director. Most recently, Dr. Rose served as the Lead Sexual Assault Response Coordinator and Alternate SHARP (Sexual Harassment/Assault, Response and Prevention) Program Manager at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. There, her goal was to reduce the prevalence of sexual violence amongst West Point Cadets by implementing educational programs aimed at increasing Cadet knowledge and skills within the areas of bystander intervention, healthy relationship skills, and establishing positive norms about gender/sexuality. With a BA in Religious Studies from Wells College, a Master of Education in Human Sexuality and a Master of Social Work from Widener University, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Innovation from New York University, Dr. Rose has a passion for understanding and empowering the intersectional nature and expression of people’s various identities. She believes that by improving communication amongst people within communities, the cultural stigma that causes people to feel the need to hide important parts of themselves can evolve into cultural norms which accept all identities and behaviors. Though her educational pursuits can be labeled “eclectic” – religion, sexuality, and social work are often seen as mutually exclusive fields – Dr. Rose sees them as overlapping fields of study that align with her ultimate goal of creating and living in a world in which everyone is loved and accepted for who they are.
