Drop-in Kindness Event Schedule
Serving together as a diverse group of students with various religious and non-religious identities creates the space to learn from one another.
We will be providing specific volunteer opportunities for you throughout the year located both on- and off-campus. During the events, you will have the opportunity to reflect on what personal values inspired you to serve, as well as learn about the role of spiritual wellness in community service and acts of kindness. The Kindness Initiative is a city-wide partnership project between UMB and JHeritage.
The three drop-in Kindness Initiative projects that will be held on campus this year are as follows:
- Make a Teddy Bear with Love
Friday, Dec 2, 2016 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. SMC CC, First Floor
Drop-in for ten minutes to make a teddy bear to brighten the day of a child recovering in the UMMC and other local hospitals. No sewing skills required.
- Operation Welcome Home Card-Making
Friday, Nov. 11 | Noon - 1 p.m. | SMC CC, First Floor
Drop by any time for a card making party to thank our returning troops. We will have everything you need to make creative cards.
- Operation Helping Hand
Friday, Feb. 10, 2016 | 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. | SMC Campus Center, 1st Floor
Drop in, make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or two, and sign a 'thinking of you' card for the city's homeless & needy.
