IA originally thought events could be done in summer. Picked a date within the semester. Funding allocated was $450 and would be reduced to $180 with 60% penalty. Motion made to reduce penalty from 60% to 30% (same as previous appeals of this nature). Motion approved (23 Y, 0N, 0A). 2. USAD appeal: TD read statement by Maria Okafor, president of USAD on behalf of the USAD executive board (handout). Minority Mixer event originally planned for March. Was in the USGA News for 12 days. Motion to reduce to 30%. $600 was the amount originally allocated, would be reduced to $240 with 60% penalty. Discussion of no representatives from USAD president. Due to short notice and the fact that USAD wanted to have the event this semester and this was the last USGA meeting in which they could appeal, they were unable to have a rep present. The statement was written as a back up that ended up being necessary. Motion approved (20Y, 2N, 1A). B. Funding guidelines: edits were as follows: 1. Section 5B changed to “…must be submitted in time to appear for a minimum of 3 regularly scheduled publications of the USGA News prior to the date of the Organization’s event.” 2.
