Project Jump Start is a campus-wide student group that serves the local homeless community by providing meals and advocacy on homeless issues. Students have the opportunity to volunteer to pack lunches and go out into the community to serve our clients. We meet every Tuesday and Friday at 5.30pm in the SMC Campus Center (621 W. Lombard St.) to make food.
The aim of the ISO is to establish a platform where all international students and Americans can meet and engage in some social activities. We want all the different cultures represented on our campus to be able to share their different backgrounds, cultures and establish friendship. The ISO is the parent organizations of most of the cultural organizations on campus, and works to coordinate efforts between the different organizations.
The Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) is a non-profit and non-political organization composed of a voluntary executive committee. The UMB CSSA is an official organization at University of Maryland, Baltimore to represent the voices of the Chinese community within the University. We are actively participating in activities on campus as well as in major events in Baltimore, MD.
The MSSA is dedicated to fostering fellowship among all UMB students through the planning, development, and implementation of various programmatic initiatives. Our organization is an umbrella organization which is open to all students at UMB, and serves to provide support for its members. We provide spiritual and social support for our members, as well as various educational opportunities for our members as well as the UMB campus as a whole, in order to enrich the intellectual atmosphere we have here on campus. Our services and programs serve to fill a need created by students, specifically Muslim students, living away from an organized Muslim community and its social structure.
USAD interacts with the University of Maryland community as well as the local Baltimore community in addressing various concerns of students of African descent. The organization achieves its mission by sponsoring and implementing educational, cultural and social programs.
