2013-2014 USGA Executive Board
Laura is a second-year master's student in Epidemiology and Human Genetics program of the Graduate School. Originally from New Jersey, she received her BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Connecticut in 2012. Laura is also a member of the Graduate School Association and is happy to be serving on the USGA.
Jillian is a second-year law student. She graduated with her BS in accounting and BA in history from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2012. She looks forward to serving during the 2013-2014 school year!
Spencer is a third-year graduate student in the Toxicology program at the Graduate School. His research focuses on organophosphorous pesticides and how they affect neurobiology and physiology. He graduated from College of Charleston in South Carolina in 2011 with a dual degree in biochemistry and chemistry. Spencer was born in Annapolis and is passionate about the Chesapeake Bay, sailing, surfing, music, and soccer. Spencer is also a member of the Graduate Student Association.
Kimberly is a Master of Social Work (MSW) candidate with a concentration in Management and Community Outreach, and a specialization in Community Development and Social Action. During the past two semesters, she interned at the American Red Cross National Headquarters in the International Services Department, as the International Disaster Response Research Intern. Kimberly currently serves as the Director for Governmental Affairs on the University System of Maryland Student Council, and as the Student Representative on the University System of Maryland Health Care Reform (ACA) Implementation Workgroup. At the School of Social Work, Kimberly serves as the Secretary of the Financial Social Work Initiative Steering Committee, where she is a member of the Community Practice and Policy Workgroup. Kimberly serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Social Workers Maryland Chapter. As USGA Parliamentarian Kimberly chairs both the Legislative and Constitutional Review Committees. Prior to attending UMB, Kimberly worked for Fortune 50 corporations, community non-profit organizations, and distinguished universities. Kimberly holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and has studied abroad in London and Greece. She is the recipient of the President’s Certificate of Commendation for her work on the University Student Government Association, and of the Platinum Award for completing the highest level of the President’s Student Leadership Institute. During the 2013-2014 academic year, Kimberly is looking forward to interning at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
The USGA Executive Board is composed of the organization's seven elected officers who are elected each May to serve for one year. The Executive Board serves as the primary body that guides and leads the organization's activities. It meets regularly prior to each Senate meeting.
