School of Dentistry
 | Valencia Barnes Valencia is in her first year in the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program. Originally from historic Selma, Alabama, Valencia received her B.S in Biological Sciences from The University of Alabama and her Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She is thrilled to be a part of the University of Maryland community, and is ready to contribute her ideals in an effort to foster continued excellence throughout the University at large. |

| Justin Fox Justin is a third year dental student. He received his B.S. in Molecular Biology from The Florida State University. He is originally from New York, but attended high school in Rockvilke, Maryland. He looks forward to going into private practice in the Maryland/D.C. area after graduating from dental school. |
| Matthew Goodrich Matt is a second year student in the School of Dentistry. Originally from Southern Pines, NC, he graduated from Wingate University with an undergraduate degree in Biology in 2011. Matt has been a member of the USGA Senate since 2011 and looks forward to serving the campus during the 2012-2013 academic year. |
| Lauren Hanzlik Lauren is a third year dental student. Originally from Fort Collins, CO she is a long ways from home. Lauren received her B.S. in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder and looks forward to moving back west after graduation to attend a GPR before going into private practice. |
 | Katie Lin Katie is second year dental student in the School of Dentistry. Originally from Vestal, NY, she attended Cornell University where she received a B.S. in Human Biology, Health and Society in 2008. She did medical research at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Children's Hospital Boston prior to attending UMB. Katie has been a senator since 2011 and looks forwards to continuing working with the USGA. |
 | Emily Meyer Emily is a first year dental student. She received her B.S. in Nutritional Science from Pennsylvania State University and she is originally from Pennsylvania. Emily looks forward to serving during the 2012-2013 school year! |
School of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene
| Brittany Z. Matthews Brittany, a native Washingtonian, received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a Spanish minor from High Point University in 2006. In 2011, she entered the University of Maryland Dental School Hygiene Program, and will receive her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene May 2013. Brittany currently works at the University of Maryland Student Financial Assistance and Education office, serves as a Senator for the USGA, is an MHEC (Maryland Higher Education Commission) co-representative for the school, an Active SADHA (Student American Dental Hygiene Association) member and participates in various community events in DC and Maryland to help those in need. |
 | Anne Staggers Anne is the Dental Hygiene class of 2014 representative! She completed her two years of pre-requisites at Howard Community College. She hopea to use her dental hygiene degree to serve other people both in the community and across the world one day! Serving others is what she is truly passionate about! |

 | Jasmyn Allen Jasmyn Allen is a first year law student. She is originally from Mt.Vernon, NY. She obtained her BA in criminal justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2012. She looks forward to working with the senate and hoping to make some beneficial changes for the student body. |

 | Karen Lattibeaudiere Karen is a first-year law student at UM School of Law. Hailing from the beautiful sunny island of Jamaica via New York, she graduated from Monroe College with two degrees in Business Management and Business Administration. She then went on to receive her MS from Albany Law School with a concentration in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer. Prior to attending UM School of Law for her J.D., she worked in the legal department at the corporate head office of Starwood Resorts International in Stamford, Connecticut on contracts for their Seven (7) brands of hotels throughout China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Malaysia. |
 | Martin Nestares Martin Nestares is a second-year law student. He is originally from Argentina. He has been a member of the USGA Senate since 2011 and looks forward to serving during the 2012-2013 school year. |
School of Pharmacy
 | Bansri Desai Bansri is a second year student in the School of Pharmacy. Originally from Haslett, Michigan, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Neuroscience. She is looking forward to working with other student leaders to serve the campus community. |
 | Angela Kim Angela Kim is a third year pharmacy student in the Class of 2014. She grew up in Rockville, MD and received her BS from the University of Maryland, College Park. This is her first year serving with the USGA and she looks forward to an exciting year. |
| Michelle Madwolf A fourth year Pharmacy student living in Carroll County Maryland, Michell is also a Schweitzer Fellow and Ensign in the United States Public Health Service. She completed a JRCOSTEP this past summer with the Indian Health Service on the Tohono O'odham reservation in Sells Arizona. She is of Comanche heritage herself, and continues to be active in the Native community. |
 | Temi Ogunbodede Temi is a second year student in the School of Pharmacy. He studied Biology at University of Wisconsin prior to coming to Baltimore, but is originally from the Chicago suburbs. He is excited to be a senator in the 2012-2013 USGA! |
 | Brian Ung Brian Ung is a first year pharmacy student in the Class of 2016. He is from Simi Valley, California and attended UC-Santa Barbara for undergrad, majoring in Pharmacology. This is his first year with USGA and is excited to make a positive impact at this university. |

Daniel has been a member of the USGA Senate since 2011 and looks forward to serving the campus during the 2012-2013 academic year. |
 | Rupal Jain Rupal is a first year student in the School of Medicine. Born and raised in PG County, she studied Biology and English at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is thrilled to join other UMB student leaders from all disciplines in together perfecting our campus and community. |
 | David Kim David is a second year student in the School of Medicine. He earned his B.A. from Cornell University and has been a member of the USGA Senate since 2011. He looks forward to serving his fellow peers during the 2012-2013 academic year. |
 | Christy Morris-Berry Christy is a first year student in the School of Medicine. Originally from Salisbury, Maryland, she earned a BA from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) in Biochemistry and Biology, followed by a MS from Johns Hopkins University in Biotechnology. She worked several years researching pediatric neurological diseases including autism, Tourette syndrome, and stereotypies at Johns Hopkins. She still plays lacrosse and manages her post-collegiate women's team, plays co-ed touch football, and enjoys Maryland wineries with her husband and puppy, Kona. She is eager to use her experience to serve as a USGA Senator. |
 | Rosie Zhang Xuemin (Rosie) is a 1st year student in the School of Medicine. Originally from Burtonsville, Maryland, she graduated with B.S. degrees in biology and finance from the University of Maryland. Rosie is looking forward to serving the campus in the 2012-2013 school year. |
Physical Therapy
 | Lauren Broccolo Lauren is a second year Physical Therapy student. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, she graduated from Towson University with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2010. Lauren has been a member of the USGA since 2011, and looks forward to serving during the 2012-2013 school year! |
 | John Grossman John is a first year Physical Therapy student. Originally from Forest Hill, Maryland, he graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.S. in Kinesiology in 2012. He looks forward to serving the campus during the 2012-2013 school year. |
Graduate School
 | Laura Bozzi Laura is a first year Master's student with the department of Epidemiology and Human Genetics. Originally from New Jersey, she received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Connecticut in 2012. Laura is also a member of the Graduate School Association and is happy to be serving on the USGA. |
| Geoffrey Heinzl Geoffrey is a second-year graduate student in the Pharmaceutical Sciences department. His research focuses on novel antimicrobials for opportunistic pathogens. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Allegheny College, where he double-majored in chemistry and French. Geoffrey also serves as a member of the graduate student association, a board member of the pharmacy graduate student association, and secretary of the UMB student chapter of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. |
 | Ratnakar Potla Ratnakar is a fourth year graduate student in GPILS Toxicology program. He graduated from SRMC medical school in chennai, India. He is a returning senator from Graduate school and has served on USGA e-board and various committees including the appropriations. He is the current president of Graduate Student Association. |
 | Spencer Todd Spencer is a second year graduate student in the Toxicology department. His research focuses on organophosphorous toxicants and how they affect one's neurobiology and physiology. He graduated from College of Charleston in South Carolina in 2011 with a dual degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry. Spencer was born in Annapolis, MD and is passionate about the Chesapeake Bay, sailing, surfing, music and soccer. Spencer is also a member of the Graduate Student Association. |
 | Joe Vandigo Joe is a third-year graduate student in the Pharmaceutical Health Services Research (PHSR) department. His research focuses on variations in colon cancer treatment attributable to Medicare reimbursement practices and integrating the patients voice into the research process. Originally from Louisiana, he graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in finance and received his MBA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) with a concentration in finance/healthcare administration. Before returning for his PhD, he worked in mortgage operations for JP Morgan Chase and taught economics as an adjunct faculty member at ULM. |
Graduate School of Nursing
 | Charlene Adolphe Charlene is a first semester student in the Masters of Science Clinical Nurse Leader program. She was born and raised in Orlando, Florida and attended Florida State University (Go 'Noles!) where she received a B.S. in Exercise Science. Charlene is a member of the Graduate Nursing Association and Nurses for Global Health at UMB, and is looking forward to being a part of the USGA! Besides studying, she loves the beach, reading, traveling, football season, cooking, and playing soccer. |
 | Marisa Astiz MarisaAstiz@gmail.com Marisa is in her final year of the Master's of Science Clinical Nurse Leader Program. She has a Bachelor of Science from UM College Park in Family Science. She relocated from Montgomery County a year ago and is looking forward to working with under-served communities in the Baltimore area after graduation. An active participant in the Graduate Nursing Association, this is Marisa's first term as a USGA Senator |
 | Leeza Constantoulakis Leeza is a second semester Masters candidate at the School of Nursing anticipated for graduation this December with her Clinical Nurse Leader degree. Leeza is also a member of SUPER (Students United for Policy Education and Research). She is also the vice president for the Graduate Nursing Association.When her life is not dominated by school work, Leeza enjoys running half marathons and being outdoors. Looking forward to a wonderful 2013! |
 | Joel Forsyth Joel is currently a Master's of Science, Clinical Nurse Leader candidate for graduation in May 2013. Originally from Western Maryland, Joel completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Towson University in 2006. After managing operations for a restaurant for 5 years, Joel initiated a career change and returned to school to pursue a career in nursing. After graduation, Joel hopes to work as an Advanced Practice Nurse in either Acute/Critical Care or Nurse Anesthesia. He hopes to return to the UMSON to receive his post-Master's education. Joel has been a member of the UMSON Graduate Nursing Association (GNA) since Fall 2011, and is the current GNA President. Joel has been a UMB USGA Senator since Spring 2012, and looks forward to continuing to serve his classmates until graduation. |
 | Danielle Hume Danielle is in her final year in the Clinical Nurse Leader Program. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy in 2006 from Mount St. Mary's University. After three and a half years on active duty in the U.S. Army she returned to the University of Maryland, Baltimore to pursue a future practicing nursing in deployments worldwide with the reserve Army Nurse Corps and throughout the United States with the U.S. Public Health Service. In her spare time she works as a student nurse on the Neurocare ICU at UMMC, and enjoys swimming and Crossfit. |
 | Anna Stevenson Anna is completing her final year at University of Maryland School of Nursing in the Clinical Nurse Leader program. She is originally from central Georgia and attended the University of Georgia earning a BA in Spanish Language and Culture. After graduation, Anna will be working in a critical care setting with plans to further her studies in the future. She currently serves in the UMSON GNA as the Student Coordinator for the CNL Mentor Program and in the USGA as a senator. |
 | Ida-Marie J. Steinke Ida is a first semester Masters of Science- Clinical Nurse Leader at UMDSON. She graduated in 2011 from UMD-College Park with an Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She has worked with Alzheimer's Patients, those with Dementia and most recently did home care with Muscular Dystrophy. Unsure which she sector of nursing she wants to delve into, she hopes her next couple of semesters will point her in the right direction. Ida likes to spend her free time with friends and family, go running and is a Packers fan!! Go pack go! |
School of Nursing
 | Olga Bienkowska Olga is a third-year Bachelor of Science student at University of Maryland School of Nursing. She was originally born in Poland, moved here at the age of five, and has grown up in Baltimore. She graduated from Perry Hall High School, and did her undergraduate classes at College of Notre Dame of Maryland and Towson University. Olga is planning on going to graduate school to become a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She joined the USGA as a senator in 2012, and is looking forward to serving as an undergraduate senator for school year 2012-2013. |
 | Laura Gathercole Laura is a third year BSN student at the School of Nursing. Originally from University Park, MD, she began attending the University of Maryland Baltimore in Spring 2012. This is her first year as a senator and she is greatly looking forward to serving her fellow students. |
 | Jordin Mazer Jordin is in her first semester of Nursing. She is originally from Frostburg, Maryland, and came to UMB after completing her prerequisite courses at University of Maryland College Park. She is looking forward to serving as a USGA senator for the 2012-2013 school year. |
 | Joseph Albert O. Mendiola Joseph is a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at University of Maryland School of Nursing. He is originally from the Philippines, and he went to the U.S. to pursue his education. After finishing his undergraduate degree, Joseph is planning to medical school, and his long term goal is to be a cardiac surgeon. He joined USGA as a senator in 2011, and he is looking forward to serve as the Nursing undergraduate primary senator for school year 2012-2013. |
School of Social Work
 | Jennie Cohen Jennie Cohen is a first year graduate student in the School of Social Work. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland with an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies in 2011. This is Jennie's first term as a USGA Senator. |
 | Nancy Espinal Nancy is a first-year graduate student in the School of Social Work. She grew up in Laurel, Maryland and graduated from American University with a B.A. in Public Communication. Nancy’s professional background includes work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and a contracting firm, in which she worked on projects for the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), and most recently, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Nancy enjoys spending her spare time traveling, reading, and with her two dogs, Leo and Hennessy. |
| Carl LoFaro Carl is pursuing his MSW at the School of Social Work with a concentration in macro-level social work. He serves as the President of the School of Social Work's Committee for Military Awareness and is a member of the steering committee for the Financial Social Work Initiative. He is currently an intern at the Maryland CASH Campaign where he is engaged in policy issues and program design. His professional and personal interests include financial awareness, asset building, veterans issues, and homeownership. Carl looks forward to serving the interests of the students as a Senator during this academic year. |
 | Kimberly Solovy Kimberly is a MSW candidate at the School of Social Work, pursuing a macro concentration in Management and Community Organizations. She is originally from Chicago, has studied in London and Greece, and earned her B.A. Psychology at the University of Central Florida. She is a Research Assistant with the Financial Social Work Initiative, a President Student Leadership Institute Platinum Level candidate, and the Student Representative for the Educational Resources and Informatics Committee for the SSW. She is excited about serving on the USGA as the Primary Senator for the SSW for the 2012-2013 year! |
Project JumpStart (PJS)
 | Beth Zucconi Beth is a 4th year graduate student in biochemistry and studies mRNA stability. Her research is funded majorly by the American Heart Association. She is from Shippensburg, PA and majored in chemistry-biochemistry as an undergraduate at Shippensburg University. Beth enjoys meeting new people, playing volleyball and ice skating. |
