2) USGA Student Appreciation Luncheon: Thursday, December 4th 11AM - 2PM in MSTF Atrium Mark your calendars for FREE FOOD! (Hot turkey lunch. Vegetarian option available)

3) MONDAY: Healthy Choices for Baltimore is a student-run organization that teaches weekly 1-hour nutrition classes to middle school students at Midtown Academy. Volunteers from all schools are needed; no teaching experience necessary, lesson plans and transportation provided. We teach almost every Monday from 12:20 pm until 2 pm. Contact Leah Kaye for more information at lkaye002@umaryland.edu.
4) MONDAY: World Aids Day cookies and red ribbon sale Location: Pharmacy Hall lounge Date: Monday Dec,1st between 9am and 4pm. Cookies cost only 1 dollar. Organized by APhA, SMdPHA,SNPhA. All proceeds will be going to a non-profit organization in baltimore called "Aids Action Baltimore".
5) TUESDAY: United Students of African Descent (USAD) 4th General Body Meeting When: Tuesday, December 2, 2008. 5:20-6:15 pm Where: Student Center. 222 N. Pine Street, Rm 222 Why: Come Share Your Ideas!
6) TUESDAY: Nurses for Global Health Meeting: Please join NGH at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd at the School of Nursing (Room #435) for a guest lecture by Chris Rhyner, with Partners in Hope http://www.partnersinhope.us/home.shtml Partners in Hope encourage and serve India's small community by building relationships with them here in the US and overseas. This organization assist by providing financial support, sponsoring short term medical teams. All students are welcome. Chris is interested in finding a few students to go with her on her annual trip to India. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in a global health experience. She needs nurses & educators on her next trip scheduled for January 2009.
7) THURSDAY: Christian Medical Society On Thursday, December 4th, the Christian Medical Society will be hosting a lunch talk (12-1pm) in Hosick Lecture Hall (in the Bressler Research Building on Baltimore Street) by Dr. Rafik Hanna, an Emergency Medicine attending physician at Union Memorial. He'll be talking about practicing medicine in the American urban environment as it relates to multiculturalism and spirituality. We hope that you can join us for it! 8) FRIDAY: Project Jump Start Winter Fundraiser Project Jump Start is having a winter fundraiser. DECEMBER 5th at PICKLES PUB from 6:30-10:30PM $10 at the door for a wristband to receive food and specials. Come out and support Jump Start so we can continue to serve our homeless population.
9) FRIDAY: Indian Association's Winter Holiday Celebrations Come and join the IA and celebrate the winter holiday season with an Indian flair. Also enjoy delicious desi food and music. When: Friday, December 5, 2008. The actual program starts at 7 pm. Members of the IA executive board for 2009 will be elected prior to that (6-7 pm). Location: Student Center conference room (222 N. 10) FRIDAY: Physical Therapy School Fundraiser Come join the physical therapy school at Sliders (upstairs) at 6pm on December 5 for a little food, drink, and your chance to win CASH by entering a 50/50 raffle! Tickets for the raffle are $2, and can be bought at Sliders on Friday or in advance by contacting Erin Johnson (ejohn012@umaryland.edu). Also plan to wear your most classic Christmas/holiday sweater because there will be a prize given out for the tackiest of the tacky! :-)

11) Campus-wide Photo Contest Announced! Show us your hidden talents by entering our 5th annual photo contest, Say "Cheese" 2009. There are separate divisions for UMB students and for faculty/ staff. All entries are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009. Contact the Office of Student Services at 410.706.7117 for complete contest rules.
12) Thank You from Nurses for Global Health The Nurses for Global Health (NGH) Fall Book Drive is now officially over. (See attachment) Thanks to students, faculty and staff on campus who donated used books. NGH collected 350 science and nursing books. The books are now on their way to Nigeria for use by nursing students. Again, thank you for your contribution to make this book drive a huge success!

13) Jewish Student Association: Join the Jewish Student Association to celebrate the Festival of Lights at our annual inter-graduate school Chanukkah Bash! 14) ISO: World Crafts Workshop and Supper Join ISO on December 8 from 5:30 till 7:30 in the Student Center’s Multi-Purpose room for a holiday crafts workshop. ISO will provide soups, snacks, and supplies. Please call 410 706-7117 for more information for henna and other crafts. Co-sponsored by USGA.
15) USAD: We invite all to join us at our PRE-KWANZAA CELEBRATION. This is a non-religious holiday that celebrates Family, Community, and Culture through Unity, Self Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith. We welcome people of all backgrounds and students from all the seven schools. When: Friday, December 12, 2008, 6:15pm-8:30pm Where: Student Center, Multipurpose room, 2nd Floor FREE for all!
