USAD Mission
- Address the concerns and cultural development of students of African descent
- Educate others about the contributions of Africans and African-Americans in the enhancement of society and the world at large
- Raise the campus community's level of awareness about diversity issues by creating venues for people to interact and discuss such issues in an open and safe environment
USAD interacts with the University of Maryland at Baltimore community as well as the local Baltimore community in addressing various concerns of students of African descent. The organization achieves its mission by sponsoring and implementing educational, cultural and social programs.
