Women's Self Defense Course

Enroll now in the highly acclaimed and nationally recognized self-defense program known as R.A.D. 

R.A.D. Stands for Rape Aggression Defense and is a Women's Self Defense Class.  This program is a hands-on course designed to emphasize confidence and self discipline while developing & enhancing options of self-defense.  This course will teach basic self-defense techniques and emphasize common sense approaches to safety on campus.  Classes are taught by certified instructors from URecFit & University Police.

Course Fee

  • $ 10 - UM Students, URecFit Members, UM Staff, UMMC Staff, and UM Affiliates.  
  • $ 20 - Outside General Public.   
  • Payment needs to be made at the URecFit Business Desk on the 4th floor of the SMC Campus Center
    • Please bring registration email from the Elm to the URecFit Business Desk at time of purchase
    • All payments need to be made prior to the first class
  • All participants receive a sixty-five page manual

R.A.D. For Men Self Defense Course

What is R.A.D. for Men? R.A.D. For Men is a self defense program designed to provide responsible information and tactical options of self defense for men who find themselves in confrontational situations.  It is a violence prevention and self defense program that:

  •  Educates men about their roles and responsibilities in reducing violence
  •  Provides educational and physical options for men who find themselves in confrontational situations
  •  Offers no-nonsense, practical techniques of defense
  •  Provides realistic and dynamic hands on training
  •  Provides students with a comprehensive reference manual
  •  Grants all students a lifetime free return and practice policy
