Who is Eligible for Membership to URecFit at the SMC Campus Center? 

 (All members must be over age 18)

UM Students

Currently enrolled UM students (except UM Shady Grove Students) that are in good standing have access to all URecFit facilities.  Student fees cover the access charge. A current UM OneCard must be presented in order to enter all facilities. UM students enrolled at Shady Grove campus are eligible for membership at the primary rate. 

UM Alumni

Alumni who graduate in 2012 will have a complimentary membership for one year from time of graduation. 

  • May 2012 Graduates – good through May 31, 2013
  • Summer 2012 Graduates – good through August 31, 2013
  • December 2012 Graduates – good through December 31, 2013
  • All other University alumni are required to purchase a membership and need to provide proof.

BCCC Students

  • Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) students that are part of the Life Sciences Program located in the UM BioPark have access to all URecFit facilities. A valid UM OneCard must be presented in order to enter all facilities. All other BCCC students are eligible for membership at the BioPark Fitness Center at the primary rate.

Primary Membership

Verification of current University employment or attachment is necessary to join. You are eligible to purchase a Primary Membership (URecFit or BioPark Fitness pass) if you fall in the following categories:

  • UM Employee/Alumni/Retiree
  • UM Shady Grove Campus Students
  • UM Research Assistants (GRA, GA) including J-Scholars
  • UM BioPark Tenants
  • UM Smith School of Business Students, Staff, and Alumni
  • Visiting Students to UM programs 

Affiliate Membership

You are eligible to purchase an Affiliate Membership (URecFit or BioPark Fitness pass) if you fall in the following categories:

  • University Hospital Staff (UMMC) & Shock Trauma (STC)
  • University of Maryland Faculty Practice, Inc. (FPI)
  • Office of the Medical Examiner (OCME)
  • Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Service Systems (MIEMSS)
  • Downtown Baltimore Childcare Center (DBCC)
  • Education Affairs Division, Office of the Attorney General
  • Veterans Administration Staff (VA Baltimore)
  • Visiting Faculty, Interns, and Students to UMMC (University Hospital)
  • University Affiliates, Contractors & Volunteers (with a University OneCard)

Spouse and Domestic Partner Membership

Memberships may be purchased for spouses and domestic partners of students and members.   A spouse/domestic partners' membership must be the same length or shorter in term of the main member. The member must provide supporting documentation such as a valid Marriage Certificate or a Domestic Partner/Spousal Affidavit with a documentation verifying financial interdependence such as a joint banking account, mortgage, lease, financial contracts, tax documents, and/or similar items.
