Eligibility

Who is Eligible for Membership to URecFit at the SMC Campus Center? 

 (All members must be over age 18)

UMB Students

Currently enrolled UMB students (except UMB Shady Grove Students) that are in good standing have access to all URecFit facilities.  Student fees cover the access charge. A current UMB OneCard must be presented in order to enter all facilities. UMB students enrolled at Shady Grove campus are eligible for membership at the primary rate. 

UMB Alumni

Alumni who graduate in 2013 will have a complimentary membership for one year from time of graduation. 

  • May 2013 Graduates – good through May 31, 2014
  • Summer 2013 Graduates – good through August 31, 2014
  • December 2012 Graduates – good through December 31, 2013
  • All other University alumni are required to purchase a membership and need to provide proof.

BCCC Students

  • Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) students that are part of the Life Sciences Program located in the UM BioPark have access to all URecFit facilities. A valid UMB OneCard must be presented in order to enter all facilities. All other BCCC students are eligible for membership at the BioPark Fitness Center at the primary rate.

Primary Membership

Verification of current University employment or attachment is necessary to join. You are eligible to purchase a Primary Membership (URecFit or BioPark Fitness pass) if you fall in the following categories:

  • UMB Employees/Alumni/Retiree/ Research Assistants/Visiting Students
  • UMB Shady Grove Campus Students/Alumni (Nursing and Pharmacy)
  • UMB BioPark Tenants
  • UMB Smith School of Business Students, Staff, and Alumni
  • UMCP Employees/ Alumni 

Affiliate Membership

You are eligible to purchase an Affiliate Membership (URecFit or BioPark Fitness pass) if you fall in the following categories:

  • University Hospital Staff (UMMC) & Shock Trauma (STC)
  • Visiting Faculty, Interns, and Students to UMMC (University Hospital)
  • University of Maryland Faculty Practice, Inc. (FPI)
  • Office of the Medical Examiner (OCME)
  • Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Service Systems (MIEMSS)
  • Downtown Baltimore Childcare Center (DBCC)
  • Veterans Administration Staff (VA Baltimore)
  • University Affiliates, Contractors & Volunteers (with a University OneCard)
  • Education Affairs Division, Office of the Attorney General

Sponsored Individuals

Sponsored individuals of the above groups are eligible for membership based on that specific groups' rate. A sponsored individuals membership must be the same length or shorter in term of the main member.

Community

Community are individuals not affiliated with the University and who live within zip codes 21201, 21223 and 21230. Proof of residence required.
