Book Club Meeting
UMBrella is hosting our third brown bag book club meeting on Nov. 11. We are reading What I Told My Daughter: Lessons From Leaders on Raising the Next Generation of Empowered Women, edited by Nina Tassler with Cynthia Littleton. Join us!
In What I Told My Daughter, entertainment executive Nina Tassler has brought together a powerful, diverse group of women — from Madeleine Albright to Ruth Bader Ginsburg, from Dr. Susan Love to Whoopi Goldberg — to reflect on the best advice and counsel they have given their daughters either by example, throughout their lives, or in character-building, teachable moments between parent and child.
Tassler is the chair of CBS Entertainment and has nurtured some of the most popular shows in television, including The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, ER, and the critically acclaimed The Good Wife.
Friday, Nov. 11, 2016
Noon to 1:30 p.m.
HS/HSL, Room 321
*UMBrella’s book club meetings are brown bag lunches (dessert and drinks are provided!). Please come prepared to discuss the book, but don’t worry if you haven’t finished — come anyway — there will be plenty to talk about! UMBrella events are open to all UMB faculty, staff, and students.
