UMANS is the University of Maryland's Chapter of the National Student Nurses Organization.  We involve students in community volunteering, speak to young people about nursing and health, and raise funds for a variety of projects.

"The NSNA mission is to: organize, represent and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs; convey the standards and ethics of the nursing profession; promote development of the skills that students will need as members of the nursing profession; advocate for high quality health care; advocate for and contribute to advances in nursing education; and develop nursing students who are prepared to lead the profession in the future."      www.nsna.org

As the local chapter of the NSNA, we participate in the annual convention.  Join NSNA at the website linked above. During the Convention you will be able to:

    * Speak with other representatives from other nursing schools and hospitals across the country.
    * Attend a variety of workshops
    * Discuss issues important in your profession

Leadership Opportunities include:

    * Decion making in the House of Delegates
    * National Leadership/Officer Positions

This coming years National Convention will be held in Anaheim California!
