Laura Dickman, Writing Center manager, came to the UMB after years of garnering awards as an advertising designer in Manhattan. Today, Ms. Dickman develops the Writing Center’s publicity, coordinates students’ appointments, and handles a plethora of details to maintain the Center’s balance.  A former New York City art gallery owner and world traveler, here in Baltimore she leads charitable fundraisers, enjoys touring historic homes and museums, translates foreign publications, and enjoys nothing more than symphonies, and reading masterfully written novels under swaying palm trees.
