Sponsored Projects Curriculum

Campus and department research administrators are the expert panelists for professional development related to the administration of grants and contracts, from conception to closeout.

Twelve sessions cover a broad range of topics that include proposal budget development, award terms and conditions, monitoring project expenses and receivables, personnel issues related to grant projects, invention disclosures, and record retention. Sessions are scheduled once or twice a month. You may register any time (as space permits) for all sessions or for individual sessions.

Learning objectives:  If you take all 12 sessions, you will

  • Understand key processes and compliance issues through the life of an award
  • Understand WHY we have certain procedures and policies, and learn about the federal regulations and University System policies that underlie our processes and systems
  • Gain perspective on the “body of knowledge” that research administrators need for the many aspects of sponsored programs management

Please register in advance. The fee is $35 per session, or $350 for all 12 sessions. To register, send completed Registration Form to Janet Simons
