About This Site The University of Maryland, Baltimore web site, www.umaryland.edu, is an online representation of the University and serves as the top-level entry point for many Web visitors. The schools and units (and many departments) publish their information on their respective Web sites. - Please send comments and corrections for this site to Web Comments.
The goal of this site is to direct visitors quickly to the specific information they seek. Therefore, this University site is organized to make the navigation of our family of sites easier to use. The latest design of this page was published in January 2006. It is designed for use with 800 X 600 or higher resolution using Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape Navigator 4.7 or above (see full browser requirements). It was developed using the HTML 4.0 specification. Within these parameters, much consideration has been made to make the site usable by the broadest possible audience. If you are experiencing a problem viewing the site, please contact us. The site conforms to the university standards regarding colors and fonts, while maintaining a relatively flexible and quick-loading template for campus web developers. The university seal and web templates can be obtained at the web standards page. Numerous groups across campus are involved in Web tasks, including content creation, design and development, server administration, online course preparation, strategy, and policy.
Each of the seven schools and the administrative units are responsible for maintaining the content for their own web pages. Other campus-wide web development is accomplished through a collaborate effort: - Web application development (using Coldfusion), campus-wide web design & development, and server administration are the responsibility of the Center for Information Technology Services Web Development Department.
- The content and design of the UMB homepage, Publications, News & Media related websites, and the Office of the President webpage are the responsibility of the Office of External Affairs.
We welcome input to make improvements and updates to the UMB Web site. Make a request for a change or addition.
