When experiencing Internet Explorer errors while attempting to run Banner, try the following solutions.
- Create a Desk Top shortcut for Banner SIMS
- Remove extra IE toolbars. (ex. Yahoo, Google, MSN ….)
- For Data Execution Prevention Errors (DEP), complete the following:
- Right Click My Computer
- Click Properties
- Click Advanced
- Click Settings, then Performance
- Click Data Execution Prevention tab
- Select the item labeled “Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only”
Or “Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services except for those that I select”
Then Add Internet explorer
- For JVM.dll errors, complete the following:
- Close all IE windows
- Click the following link jvm.dll and select save it to the following location
C:\Program Files\Oracle\Jinitiator<latestversion>\bin\hotspot\

ORACLE JInitiator (Java) Version 1.3.1.22
JInitiator is the software that has to be loaded on to your computer in order to access SIMS Banner. Contact your LAN Administrator for installation if you don't have "Administrator Rights".
