SIMS Expired Password
Due to recent audit requirements, SIMS (Banner) will no longer remind you that your password is about to expire.
If it has expired, when you try to login it will tell you. However, if it expires while you are logged in, you will not know until you log out and try to log back in OR you try to run a Banner JOB (from the GJAPCTL form). At this time, you will get a message stating “Your user account is in EXPIRED status” – graphic #1 below. Simply go to the GUAPSWD form OR back out to the main menu (Change Password Link) and then change your password.
If you try to run the job again, you will receive the message “*ERROR* Your user account is in EXPIRED status” – graphic #2 below.
If you continue to try to run the job, you will receive the message “Your user account is in LOCKED status” – graphic #3 below. Then you will need to contact the IT Help Desk in order to get your password reset and your account unlocked.
