Letters to the UMB Community
Take Part in the Maryland Charity Campaign
As we approach the season of giving, I ask that you consider a contribution to one or more of your favorite nonprofit organizations through the Maryland Charity Campaign (MCC). The MCC is a workplace charitable giving program that enables state employees to make donations using payroll deduction, credit card, or check. UMB's campaign will run through Dec. 16, 2016.
Please visit Maryland Charity Campaign to search a list of the 900-plus charitable organizations taking part in the campaign. To make a pledge, you will need your unique employee giving number, which is available from campaign chair Bill Crockett, MS, RCRSP, executive director of Campus Life Services, 410-706-5743.
MCC-participating charities support all kinds of worthy causes: protecting and nurturing children, stabilizing vulnerable families, advancing critical research, safeguarding our natural resources, and so many more. I'm sure you'll find an organization whose mission touches your heart. If you wish to donate to the UMB Foundation—which supports the University's important work in education, research, clinical care, and public service—please use MCC Code/EIN: 31167867.
I'm well aware of your generous spirit, so I'm confidently predicting another admirable showing in this year's campaign. Thank you for your contribution and for bringing hope to so many Marylanders in need.
Jay A. Perman, MD
