K-12 Career Speakers Bureau
Help the Office of Community Engagement support the Baltimore public schools!
UMB encourages faculty, staff and student engagement in k-12 partner schools in it's neighboring community. As the State of Maryland's only public academic health and law center, one way of easily engaging our campus community in the lives of youth is by exposing local youth to careers in healthcare, law and human service. To this end, the UMB Office of Community Engagement is creating a k-12 Career Speakers Bureau.
If interested joining the Speakers Bureau, please contact Brian Sturdivant, Director for Strategic Initiatives and Community Partnerships at email@example.com or 410-706-1678 and the Office of Community Engagement will list your name and speaker topic on a list that we publicize to partner schools regularly.
The Office of Community Engagement (OCE) serves as UMB’s liaison to communities across the State of Maryland on behalf of the Office of the President.
Focusing on communities in West Baltimore that border the UMB campus, OCE develops and nurtures Universitywide partnerships with external stakeholders, including K-12 public schools, community organizations, nonprofits, and local businesses.
We assist UMB’s professional schools with the coordination of community engagement initiatives. Additionally, OCE coordinates faculty, staff, and student volunteer and service-learning initiatives to respond to needs identified by community partners.
