The University of Maryland, Baltimore is a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended (VEVRAA) which requires government contractors to provide equal opportunity and affirmative action for Disabled Veterans, Recently Separated Veterans, Active Duty Wartime or Campaign Badge Veterans, and Armed Forces Service Medal Veterans. The Affirmative Action Officer has been assigned responsibility for periodically reviewing progress in the compliance and implementation of the policy of affirmative action for individuals with disabilities and protected Veterans. In accordance with public law, the University’s plan of affirmative action for individuals with disabilities and protected Veterans is available for inspection in the Human Resources Department Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, upon request.
Why Report Veterans and Disability Status
It is the University's goal to support employee needs and to be in compliance with appropriate regulations and we accomplish this in collaboration with all employees. Reporting Veteran and disability information allows the University to provide appropriate services to employees and report accurate data to appropriate agencies.
