Areas of Responsibility
The Office serves UMB providing compliance, education/training, and investigative services to the campus community on a variety of topics including: Regulatory Research Compliance for Research involving Human Subjects; Financial Conflict of Interest in Research; Research Integrity, Responsible Conduct, and Misconduct; Title IX (sex and gender-based discrimination); Culture and Conflict; Gender Diversity Awareness; other Diversity and Inclusion areas; Civility; Regulatory Research Compliance Oversight; Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action; Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect; and Accountability and Compliance Monitoring. The Team receives complaints and conducts investigations related to these categories to ensure the University maintains regulatory compliance and a reputation above reproach.
The Office administers the process by which employees and guests of the University request and obtain reasonable accommodations; and directs the Youth Works program which provides Baltimore City youth with employment opportunities.
UMB's Hotline is a single point of entry for reporting concerns in these areas.
