The bakery has begun making and distributing bread since Saturday. The bakery is distributing ready baked pies to over 1000 families who have 7-12 members, with this number increasing by 50 families a day. Our partners are using bikes, donkeys, and foot to get the food to those families who cannot make it to the bakery and are in remote villages.
Many of our colleagues are trapped in their homes with their children facing extreme trauma due to the fear and uncertainty. Parents are at a loss of how to protect and care for their children. They are either unable to find food and clean water for their children or are being forced from their home in harms way to find shelter.

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=42305849610Have your children been exposed to the recent tragic events in Gaza, either through television, overheard discussions, or the Internet? Graphic images of violence and death and our own emotionally charged reactions may have a negative impact on our children's emotional well-being. Please join us for a presentation of "Through a Child's Eyes: How to Approach the Recent Events in Gaza with Your Child," and learn how to respond to your child's needs and fears in a positive and developmentally appropriate manner. Insha'allah we can work to turn these scary and sad events into a character-building experience for our children.
Attend a free discussion at DAT with a professional psychiatric, that will share tips and insights with the community on how to deal with the impact of the situation on the younger ones.
