Libraries Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HS/HSL)
As the Southeastern/Atlantic Region Medical Library of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, the HS/HSL serves 10 southeastern states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Thurgood Marshall Law Library Learning/Media Centers Dental School The Dental School Learning Center is used by students and faculty for independent study, scanning documents, access to the Internet, Email and various campus databases. Students can access faculty lectures through PowerPoint presentations on Blackboard. Two AxiUm workstations allow students privacy while using the Clinical Application Program. The Learning Center has 20 Dell computers using the Microsoft XP operating system, 2 iMac computers, 1 Epson scanner, 1 HP Scanjet/Nikon scanner, 2 black/white laser printers, 1 color laser printer and 2 TV/VCR combination units. Large screen projector systems are installed in the 4 lecture halls and 2 systems are on portable carts for use in conference rooms. Slide projectors, video tapes, slide programs and projection screens are available for check-out. The GoPrint Pay-Per-Print system is used in the Learning Center. The cost is $.05 per page for black/white copies and $.10 per page for color copies. The Learning Center staff also manages the Dental School Helpdesk. Problems with computers, printers, passwords, AxIum, etc. can be reported by calling the Helpdesk line, 410-706-2084, emailing the staff at help@dental.umaryland.edu or visiting the office. The Learning Center is located on the ground floor of the Dental School, room G-F-15. The computer lab is open seven days a week, 7a.m. to 10:45p.m., office hours are 7a.m. to 5:30p.m. Monday through Friday. |
