Team-Based Health Care: Are Today's Health Professions Students Going to be the Tipping Point?

Throughout the United States and across the various health professions disciplines, there is a growing awareness of the importance of team-based health care. While this concept has been around for decades, there wasn't been widespread adoption across the care delivery continuum and in the array of health professions curriculum. The University of Maryland, Baltimore campus, is committed to preparing our graduates in dentistry, medicine, nursing, social work, and pharmacy for team-based health care across the continuum of care settings. We also welcome the opportunity to have future lawyers join with health professions students in advocacy and health policy work. We are confident that our alumni will contribute to the tipping point for team-based health care within our evolving health care delivery model.
