Lunch & Learn Sessions (2013-2014)

PSLI is a co-curricular, certificate program designed to expose students to contemporary issues in leadership and professional development in order to prepare participants for professional leadership in a diverse work place.  PSLI aims to bring students from different levels of leadership development from all schools on campus together to learn and or enhance skills necessary for leadership on and off campus.  Many of these courses offer an opportunity to engage in conversation in an Interprofessional manner, in order to deepen the conversation and learning. 

This program will utilize a series of lunch time seminars, discussions and service to support the learning throughout the course of the academic year.  Upon completion of PSLI, the candidates will be acknowledged for their distinction at a reception with the University President.

Requirements and Seminar Information

After completion of the application and upon notification of acceptance into the cohort, the student is encouraged to plan out the classes that she/he will attend throughout the course of the year.  Planning is key for completing the program successfully. 

There are two levels of completion of PSLI; any candidate who is accepted into the cohort may choose to proceed in either level.  The Platinum level is the most prestigious level in which a student completes four (4) required sessions, as well as eight (8) elective sessions of their choice, these students also complete 50 hours of service in the community.  The Gold level candidate completes four (4) required sessions, as well as five (5) elective sessions of their choice as well as 40 hours of service in the community. Candidates are also encouraged to attend one networking session that is offered during the course of the year.

*If there is a course with multiple dates, a student will only be required to attend that course once.

All classes are in the Southern Management Corporation Campus Center (SMC CC) Room 351 unless otherwise indicated.
