Sign Language Course

University of Maryland Campus Life Services and the Office of Interprofessional Student Learning & Service Initiatives is excited to present a new opportunity to our students.  Starting in January, 30 students can participate in a 10 week long course that will teach the American Sign Language (ASL) level 1. 

Details

• Course will be taught by an instructor from the Hearing and Speech Agency (HASA) in Baltimore.
• Students will be required to commit to participating in all classes assigned to the option they choose.
• This program has been supported through the University of Maryland and the cost that the student incurs is only to cover the price of part of the text book.  The out of pocket expense for a student who will participate in this program will be $25 (by check to the Hearing and Speech Agency).
• All courses listed below will take place at the Southern Management Corporation Campus Center (SMC CC) in the Green Room on the first floor.

Course Schedule

Level 1 - Option 1: Tuesday Schedule - If you choose the Tuesday course, this will be your course schedule.  Please check to see that all these dates work.

Noon - 1 p.m.

Level 1 - Option 2: Friday Schedule - If you choose the Friday Course, this will be your course schedule.  Please check to see that all these dates work.

Noon - 2 p.m.

Level 2: Monday Schedule - Only those who have graduated from the Level 1 class are eligible to participate in the Level 2 class.

5-6 p.m.
