Headcount Student Enrollment

...what is headcount enrollment?

Spring 2008 headcount enrollment is 5,809 students, a 6% increase compared to the prior spring headcount of 5,480 students.  The largest increases in enrollment are found in graduate Nursing and the Doctor of Nursing Practice programs where as the largest decreases are in undergraduate Nursing and graduate Medicine.

Available Spring 2008 Headcount Enrollment Data:

Fall 2007 headcount enrollment as of September 12, 2007 is 5,884, an increase of 248 or 4.4% over last year's enrollment of 5,636.  Increased enrollments occur in undergraduate Medical and Research Technology, graduate Nursing and Social Work, and Dental and Pharmacy professional programs.  Decreases occur in undergraduate Nursing and graduate Medicine programs.  There are 17 students reported as enrolled in the Master of Public Health program, although as with other dual-degree programs, this figure may not reflect the entire MPH enrollment to the extent that additional students are reported under other programs.  There are 40 PharmD students enrolled at Shady Grove.

Available Fall 2007 Headcount Enrollment Data:

Spring 2007 headcount enrollment is 5,480 students, a 2% increase compared to the prior spring headcount of 5,359 students.  Increases in graduate Nursing and Master of Social Work programs are partially offset by lower enrollments in undergraduate Nursing and graduate Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy programs.

Available Spring 2007 Headcount Enrollment Data:

Fall 2006 headcount enrollment is 5,636, an increase of 126 or 2.3% over the Fall 2005 enrollment of 5,510.  Increased enrollments occur in graduate Nursing, professional Dental and Medicine, and Social Work programs.  A notable decrease occurs in the undergraduate Nursing program.  Enrollment in the Evening Law program has increased 8% after several years of decline.  Nineteen students are enrolled in the new Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate program.  There are twelve students reported as enrolled in the Master of Public Health program, although as with other dual-degree programs, this figure may not reflect the entire MPH enrollment to the extent that additional students are reported under other programs.
