Accreditation

UMB was first accredited by The Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in 1921. The most recent on-site evaluation was April 2006.

At its session on June 22, 2006, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education acted to reaffirm accreditation and to commend UMB for the quality of the self-study report and process.  The next Periodic Review Report is due June 1, 2011.

Documents relating to the 2006 Site Visit can be reviewed online or in hard copy at the Thurgood Marshall Law Library or the Health Sciences / Human Services Library.

In June 2002, the Committee on Substantive Change, on behalf of the Commission, acted to accept the reports submitted by UMB and to include the distance education web-based RN-BSN Program Option and the web-based Post Master's Certificate in Nursing Informatics within the scope of the institution's accreditation.

In November 2001 the Commission accepted a Periodic Review Report prepared by the campus, reaffirmed accreditation and commended the institution for progress to date.

Programs in each Professional School are also accredited.
