In Fiscal Year 2017, the National Institutes of Health awarded $168.6 million to the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). In terms of funding received, the School of Medicine ranked 15th compared to other public schools of medicine. The School of Dentistry ranked eighth compared to other public schools of dentistry. The School of Nursing ranked eighth compared to other public schools of nursing. The School of Pharmacy ranked 37th compared to other public schools of pharmacy. UMB received $76.5 million in grants through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for Fiscal Years 2009 and 2010.
