Accessing your Exchange Account Remotely
If you are not at your main work computer, there are 3 different ways to access your Exchange account remotely.
Outlook Web Access allows you to check your Campus Exchange account using a web browser. Outlook Web Access gives you quick access to your email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes stored on the Campus Exchange Server. You will not be able to access content stored locally on your computer (i.e. Personal or Local Folders).
For full Outlook Web Access functionality you will need to use an Internet Explorer Browser, version 6 or later. If you use an older version of Internet Explorer or another type of web browser, some Outlook Web Access features may not be available.
If you are away from your main work station for extended periods of time, you may not want to use Outlook Web Access as your main method of managing your Campus Exchange account. One solution is to configure Outlook on another computer so you have the full functionality of an Outlook client and to access your Campus Exchange account.
One of the new features of Exchange 2007 is Outlook Anywhere. This feature allows you to configure Outlook on another computer to access your Campus Exchange account without having to also use a VPN.
