General Instructions for moving your UMnet email account to myUMB Mail

Identity Management is a critical part of the CITS Campus IT Strategic and Tactical Plan.  As part of this plan to facilitate the use of a common ID, we are pleased to announce the new myUMB Mail system, which has replaced the UMnet email system.

myUMB Mail includes many new features and improvements.  Some examples include:

UMnetmyUMB Mail
  • Requires your UMnet ID for authentication
  • Provides 250MB of storage
  • Open Webmail
  • Uses myUMB Authentication
  • Provides 2GB of storage
  • Updated webmail client and user interface

With myUMB Authentication, users can log into their email account with their myUMB ID and password, the same user name and password they use for other myUMB ID Authenticated systems such as Blackboard, SURFS, eUMB, myUMB Portal, MediaSite, Field Education, SURFS, COEUS, and Effort Reporting.  For more information about myUMB ID Authentication, including information on how to customize your myUMB ID, click here.

For more information about the myUMB Mail system, click here.

As of January 12, 2009 users cannot access the UMnet email system through Open Webmail, IMAP, or POP3.

To access your email you need to move your account from the old UMnet system to the new myUMB Mail system.
