2017-2018 Verification Update
A Message for UMB Students Selected for Verification
For the 2017-2018 academic year, we were excited to share the opportunity for students to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool process to provide income information required for the verification process. Unfortunately, Federal Student Aid and the IRS have suspended the IRS Data Retrieval Tool process at this time.
To assist our students with completing the verification process, UMB will require those selected for verification, including verification of Health Professions and Nursing loans, to request from the IRS the Tax Return Transcript. This transcript can be requested from the IRS website using this link: Obtain a Tax Transcript. The IRS Tax Return Tax Transcript must be signed by the tax filer before submitting it to UMB for processing.
For those who did not file taxes, you can complete the UMB Non-Tax Filers Income Certification Form and attach any W2 forms from the 2015 calendar year.
Applicants selected for verification have forty-five days from the date of notification from UMB University Student Financial Assistance to complete the process.
Should you have any questions regarding this change, please contact your financial aid counselor or email us at email@example.com.
Wishing you a great 2017-2018 academic year.
