2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Update

Federal Student Aid has announced the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available! Students may visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to complete the application for the 2024-2025 academic year. UMB School Code: 002104.

Students will need their FSA ID and password to start their FAFSA. Those who do not have an FSA ID should select the option to "Create An Account". 

The Department of Education will begin to send FAFSA data to schools in mid-March and students will receive an email notification once their information has been sent to their selected schools. 

RECEIVING FINANCIAL AID FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR

All students receiving funds through the University — including financial aid, merit awards, grants, and scholarships — must annually complete a FAFSA for the appropriate academic year through the Federal Student Aid website. 

  • The 2023-2024 FAFSA covers Summer 2023, Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. 
  • The 2024-2025 FAFSA should be completed for Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025. 
  • UMB School Code for FAFSA: 002104
  • All students seeking financial aid at UMB must complete the FAFSA each academic year.

LOAN INFORMATION

Loan Processing: Students should monitor their official UMB email and SURFS accounts for notification regarding financial aid eligibility and any outstanding financial aid requirements. All loan requirements must be completed before funds will be disbursed to the student account.

Current students must always use their UMB email when contacting us. To safeguard your personal information, please do not send sensitive information, including documents with Social Security Numbers, to us via e-mail or fax.

  • Incoming students must have a Financial Aid email address in SURFS. Please log in to SURFS and follow the instructions for adding an email.
