Below are outlines describing the eUMB training courses which are offered for new users of eUMB HRMS.
Introduction to eUMB Commitment Accounting Departmental Payroll Processing -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IN01: Introduction to eUMB Length: Half Day
Description: The purpose of this course is to teach users how to navigate in the eUMB system. In addition, users will gain a general understanding of the eUMB business process, security and reporting tools.
Audience: All users who will receive login access to the eUMB system.
Prerequisites: Basic familiarity with a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Netscape) and re comfortable working on the World Wide Web.
Methodology: Instructor-led classroom presentation; hands-on practice
Objectives: As a result of completing this training, participants will be able to: - Sign on to the eUMB system (a PeopleSoft application)
- Access and navigate within the eUMB system
- Retrieve data and view selected records
- Assign Favorites
- Define and describe the use of Effective Dates
- Understand where the eUMB system processes and stores information
- Understand and clearly describe user responsibilities for her/his eUMB User ID and password
- Understand and clearly describe user responsibilities for using data stored in the eUMB system
- Describe the eUMB business process

Length: Full Day
Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce the Commitment Accounting process, procedures, forms and tools that will be used to distribute and encumber labor expense at UMB.
Audience: Users who will fulfill Commitment Accounting Initiator, Commitment Accounting Reviewer and Commitment Accounting Approver/Department Administrator roles in eUMB to approve, assign, update and manage designated employee funding profiles and Payroll Clearing Accounts.
Prerequisites: Introduction to eUMB
Methodology: Instructor-led classroom presentation; hands-on practice.
Objectives: As a result of completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the eUMB Commitment Accounting process
- Describe the purpose and use of the Employee Funding Profile worksheet
- Create and maintain employee funding profiles in eUMB
- Manage the departmental Payroll Clearing Account
- View and use relevant reports and queries to monitor departmental labor expense

Description: The purpose of this course is to teach Departmental Payroll Processing users how to use the eUMB Time and Labor module. The course will focus on the processes, procedures, forms and tools used to enter employee time and leave, and how to generate and approve Payable Time

- Describe how eUMB helps you manage your pay-related data
- Describe the Time and Labor Initiator and Approver roles
- Enter/approve time and leave for all classes of employees
- Assign Schedules and Comp Time Plans to eligible employees
- Process variations to regular pay
- View/report on employee job and paycheck related data
