Senior Management

• Better data, more quickly
• Department staff will be able to develop reports via easy to use web tools
• User friendly tools are available and staff will be trained to use them
• Data will be real time or near real time
• Data variables will increase dramatically: more precision possible

Reports will be available and generated on line

• Providing flexibility not currently available
• Reports via the web can capture information:

• Across Units; Across Funds
• At the Summary level or, at the Transaction level

Financial Officers

• Automated processes will replace manual processes for:
• Purchase requisitions (electronic routing)
• Associating payments with invoices (and receivers)
• Associating invoices to purchase orders
• Budget balance available will reflect:
• Pre-encumbrances, encumbrances, actual expenditures
• Journal Vouchers will be electronic
• Year end financial reporting will be electronically processed

Research Administrators

• Purchase requisitions will be processed on-line and then routed electronically through an approval process, and then to the Purchasing Services office.
• Track budget balances on all departmental grants via the web and contemporary reporting tools
• Pre-encumbrances, encumbrances, actual expenditures
• Reporting at the Summary or Project Detail Level by:
• Sponsor type (federal, state, city, foundation, for profit, etc.)
• Agreement type (grant, contract, service, clinical trial, equipment, etc.)
• Function type (research, training, service, etc.)
• Departments, divisions, centers, school
• F&A and Cost Share amounts
• Budget periods, period award amount
• Key personnel, collaborations
