Patricia Meehan is an associate dean and clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
Meehan received her DDS degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry (SOD) in 1993, as well as her certificate in periodontics in 1995. She practiced in Washington, D.C., until assuming a full-time position with the Department of Periodontics in 1997.
From 1997 to 2004, she taught full time in the Department of Periodontics, serving as co-course director for the Year 2 periodontics course, general practice periodontics supervisor, attending dentist at University Hospital’s General Practice Residency, co-director of the dental school’s ethics courses, and faculty provider for the University of Maryland Faculty Practice.
In 2004, she assumed the role of director of admissions and subsequently served as assistant dean for admissions and recruitment. She currently serves as associate dean for academic affairs. Additionally, Meehan teaches part time with the Department of Periodontics and is the SOD representative for the President’s Diversity Advisory Council.
