Dr. Kuan-Teh Jeang attended MIT for his undergraduate university education at age 16. Two years later, he went to the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Medical Scientist Training Program), later graduating with MD and PhD degrees. Dr. Jeang has published over 250 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, He is the editor-in-chief for Retrovirology, an Associate Editor for Cancer Research, and he serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and the Journal of Virology. Dr. Jeang is a Councilor of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) and is the President-elect of the Society of Chinese Bioscientists in America (SCBA). His research interests are on the gene regulation of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) and the human T-cell leukemia virus (HTLV-I); and how these two viruses cause human diseases.
